Presented project is mainly concentrated around the preparation and empowering for teachers, pedagogues and youth workers to face challenges in the subjects of equal access to education, diversity and social inclusion of children and youth from underprivileged environments and in hard family, social, financial or health situation.
The main goal is to prepare educators, pedagogues and tutors to work in difficult environments and with groups of special educational needs, as well as to promote innovative methods of working with difficult children and youth and fighting against the discrimination of groups that are not complying with traditional system of care and education.
Regular, universal pedagogical education is not enough to work with so called difficult youth or with those with special educational needs. Groups spending most of their times on streets or in intervention and care institutions, as well as the groups of children and youth with special needs, excluded from traditional schooling systems require innovative methods of education often not related to the current didactic canon of formal education.
Therefore the project aims for expertise development of people that work with children and youth from groups threatened by social and educational exclusion, as well as for the increase of their awareness of discrimination and a strong influences of prejudices.
Throughout the two two-week training courses the participants - teachers, pedagogues and youth workers will increase their knowledge on innovative methods of working with difficult children and develop their didactic skills that facilitate the inclusion of underprivileged children into the education system and into the school community. It will be also an opportunity to work on the development of own pedagogical tools that will be useful in their work with difficult children and youth.
Another product of the project will be creating a guide to good pedagogical practice.
After the project, the participants will be able to implement new standards of working with difficult children and youth on the local community level. The institutions that they work with will gain professional pedagogues with improved working tools and innovative methods to use in everyday work. Furthermore they will be able to work with the local community, identify discriminative behavior and prevent its development.
As a support of their work there will be an accessibility to the results of the intellectual work, available to the use of all teachers, pedagogues and youth workers from the countries engaged in the project. As both of the organizations are functioning as the departments of same international organization United Way there will be a possibility of sharing it between youth workers from other countries. That will work in favour of promoting innovative methods of working with underprivileged children and youth.
