PROJECT
FINISHED
Debora Calzolari from Italy will support the work of the Kinder- und Jugendkulturwerkstatt in Leipzig/Germany for 12 months. She'll assist the regular workers carrying through workshops and projects in the cultural field with local youths from 3-20years of age (including many disadvantaged children and young people) and will more and more overtake own responsibilities and carry through her own events. On top, she'll actively accompany the yearly international youth exchange (partner countries are not yet known). By doing so, Ms Calzolari will reflect upon her own geographical and cultural heritage and further develop her abilities in culture and arts, pedagogy and the didactic handling of groups. She can as well enter her experiences in the areas of theater, music and digital storytelling into the process as her didactic knowledges. She'll get to know actors of local and international youth work and experiences their work on a practical level.
Aim of the project is to offer an area to a young Italian woman in which she can try herself out under guidance and more and more overtake own responsibilities in the creative education of kids and youths. At the same time, the workers and visitors of the Kinder- und Jugendkulturwerkstatt and their friends and families profit from the presence of a young italian woman that brings a special perspective into the daily and special activities of the Kinder- und Jugendkulturwerkstatt and this way pushes forward intercultural awareness and reflections on Italy, EU and Europe.
The workers of the Kinder- und Jugendkulturwerkstatt are always at Ms Stabolidous side and accompany her in the respective creative area (theater, music, painting&pottery). The activities of the volunteer are regularly discussed, reflected upon and focussed anew according to her interests. Together with a young local long term volunteer, Ms Calzolari will develop and carry through her own EVS project.
Ms Calzolari gains through the project varied knowledge and abilities in the area of cultural paedagogy, communication and project management, local and international networks and deepens her German knowledge. This will be of great benefit for her future career. The hosting organisation gains the perspective of a young Italian; sending and hosting organisaiton get to know each other well during the project and may cooperate on future international projects. The sending organisation can use Ms Calzolari's new knowledge after her return for their info-events on Europe and cultural diversity. The partnership of sending, hosting and coordinating organization is deepened and developped for further activities.
