JA:hr für Europa im Montessori-KInderhaus
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Dec 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Adrien Mercier from France supported the work of the Montessori-Kinderhaus in Leipzig/Deutschland for 12 months. He attended the paid workers in their daily work and by carrying through festivities and special activities and increasingly overtake own responsibilities in this context. Aim of the project is to offer insights into a holistic paedagogical approach in the work with children to the young French. He checked his planned job future (children's doctor) and broaden his view as his medicinal education focusses on dealing with people in a deficit-oriented way whereas the Montessori-approach builds up on the resources of every individual. Mr Mercier was assigned to a certain group of 4-6 years old kids whose daily activities he accompanies in the beginning. More and more he overtook own responsibilities and carried through small and bigger events supported by the paedagogical staff in which he brought French culture closer to the children. On top of this, he supported the numerous punctual festivities in the Kinderhaus and carried through his own projects. Through the project, Mr Mercier gained fundamental knowledge of Montessori-paedagogy, in dealing with kids and integrative kids and in project management. He deepened his German knowledge and built up international relations and networks by living in an international flat. The hosting organisation gained the perspective of a young French and the impulses he entered with his cultural background into the daily work with the kids. After his return, the volunteer entered his project experiences as multiplicator into the info-events about Europe and EU-Mobility. The coordinating and sending organisation gained reliable partners for future cooperations in the EVS framework.
