Kuldiga District AEC is working in the district which is considered as the territory of Latvia where is preserved rich cultural heritage – more than 150 state significance and about 50 local significance cultural monuments; old town of Kuldiga is place with intense density of cultural monuments. The applicant has recognized the problem that, when taking care about manor houses, barns and other historical buildings, owners are missing the understanding about planning of the renovation works, management of the buildings and need to use traditional materials that in longer period can lead to reducing of the value of the buildings and cause the damage.
In this situation, Kuldiga District AEC has planned to implement 4 mobility, where in each group there will be 3 specialists involved, which will participate in job watching in Sweden and Norway, will attend 2 different courses in Italy and Portugal, therefore promoting personal competence. Applicant has planned to establish new life-long learning courses program offer for the preservation of the cultural heritage at the end of the project within 1-2 years period, therefore increasing the scale of the activity and attracting new target audiences from Kurzeme region and to develop activity of the applicant on European level.
Within this mobility project specialists of Kuldiga District AEC and potential authors of new courses will introduce the experience of Sweden and Norway that will result with better understanding of the potential resources of Kuldiga with aim to improve the offer of adult education courses, creating new international programs and improving the capacity with purpose to develop Kuldiga as research centre of cultural heritage on the scale of Baltic countries.
