The project “Education without borders: learn, qualify, research”.According to the planning documents “Europe 2020” and “The national development plan of Latvia 2014-2020” investments in human resources – raising vocational education teachers’ qualification, support to material and technical basis modernisation and improvement of education content are significant preconditions for supplying labour force corresponding to labour market demands.Since the proportion of general education school students and vocational education students should be 50/50 we have to increase the number of vocational education students. In order to make vocational education more attractive for students and increase competitiveness, it is necessary to modernise teaching-learning environment to provide education of good quality. To make strategic contributions in development of educational institution it is important to invest not only in improvement of material and technical basis but also in development and growth of human resources potential. In order to realise the above mentioned Daugavpils Technical School has worked out “Priorities of Daugavpils Technical school development 2015-2020” stating the importance of teachers’ professional competence development to improve teaching/learning quality including economics, ICT, foreign language skills development, international mobility, sustainable development of thinking and action in environmental science, facilitation of healthy lifestyle in sports lessons, etc.Considering the above mentioned, the aims of the project are:- to work out, improve and develop innovative programs in different fields, transfer good experience and varied methods including open learning implementation in teaching/learning process particularly in the following fields: economics, ICT and foreign languages, environmental science, healthy lifestyle, etc.- to promote school internalisation thus adapting innovative education conception and methodological experience of different European countries, internationalising teaching/learning process in the technical school, increasing the number of international mobilities and developing intercultural competence and European dimension. - to support the teachers’ professional mastery development and growth of the staff attending courses and seminars abroad in order to get new knowledge, skills and competencies for ensuring school development priorities and practical needs;- to promote and increase school prestige and develop its recognition and attractiveness not only for our present students but also school’s potential students.The participants of the project: three English language teachers, two German language teachers, one economics teacher, one environmental science teacher and two sports teachers. The teachers will have opportunity to gain innovative experience in their professional field and to become multiplicators for other teachers in school, region and state because our technical school is the professional education competence centre. These teachers participate in all previously named ERASMUS+ program projects and attendance of these courses is essential for them because they will develop new education programs, practical and methodological materials and provide innovation transfer for development of common school strategy.The outputs of the project will be as follows:- an intensive English teaching program for students;- an intensive German author’s programme to prepare students for practice abroad;- a program of optional classes for maintaining healthy lifestyle;- a program of optional classes for sustainable environmental education.2. Develop teaching support materials and improve complex of methodological materials for:- economics teaching,- English teaching,- development of curriculum in education,- German teaching.3. A new project application for youth’s sports development.
