The project "Itaca, traveling into learning" is set in a community that hosts boys and girls aged between 12 and 17 years, from multi-problematic families, inadequate or dangerous to the healthy growth of children or unaccompanied foreigne minors, coming from poor countries.The two European volunteers will be mainly involved in the following activities:- Organize free time activities- assist the children in their daily activities (tidying the room, playing, cooking and eating together)- Study together the Italian language- Sporadically participate in fundraising activities, events of the neighborhood, and so on.- grow a small vegetable garden in the yard.The aim of the project is:• Increase the social inclusion of children;• Provide new skills to volunteers;• increase their job opportunities;• promote the exchange of good practice in organizations involved in the project; • try out new synergies.Methodology:- Participation in team meetings- Learn by doing, always accompanied by a project operatorthe project will last 12 months.volunteers will have:- Food,- Accommodation (in an apartment located in the district, the area is fairly peripheral but well-connected to the rest of the city and provided with all essential services),- Pocket money,- Monthly ticket for public transport,- Language training,- Training in the contents of the project.
