Our project concerns an educational visit of 6 trainers from ESTIA to the Swedish partner in order to exchange expertise. The Swedish partner is one of the best and well established, highly developed and scientifically sound organizations in the E.U. In addition it uses innovative tools and methods in life long education with regards to people with intellectual disabilities.The team of 6 trainers that will travel to the Swedish partner to exchange expertise consists of psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and special educators that are specialized in training adults with special needs. This visit is part of an ongoing cooperation with the Swedish partner. In September 2014 the partner visited us in Athens to exchange expertise.The aim of the project is to learn and adopt new innovative educational methods and tools that are being used by the Swedish partner which will facilitate autonomy and help in social integration of people with intellectual disabilities. By use of participant observation techniques and presentations of the methods and the tools that are being used by the partner, our purpose is to achieve a fruitful exchange of expertise and to create a network of partners that work in supporting people with disabilities.
