The total duration of the project is 12 months (September 2016 - September 2017). The mobility will take place at the Amsterdam Institute for Addiction Research (AIAR), which is a cooperation between the Amsterdam Medical Centre of the University of Amsterdam and the Jellinek Addiction Treatment Centre in Amsterdam. Twelve (12) professionals will receive one week training, while one (1) will receive two month training. The training will be focused on the following topics: - Brief Interventions for Alcohol, Drugs and Gambling. - Brief and longer term interventions in the prison system.- Interventions for Double and Triple Diagnosis Patients. - Longer term treatment interventions, relapse prevention and aftercare. AIAR is an educational institution with high expertise and scientific prestige in the field of addictions in the Netherlands. The institution can provide innovative educational methodology, combining theoretical background and professional practice. The combination of a treatment center and a university facilitates active communication between treatment, research and education. Thus, trainees can come direct into contact with existing treatment and prevention programs and take holistic educational services. The general objective of the mobility project is to support participants in training in the acquisition and use of knowledge, skills and qualifications in order to support improvement in quality and innovation in vocational educational system (formal and informal) and practices of the applicant organization. The specific objective of the project is the transfer, use and dissemination of the results of the training. The expected effect on the participants is:- to empower their professional role through new knowledge and skills. - to disseminate knowledge, processes and therapeutical methodology, which in long term will benefit the organization. The impact of this project is dual, to strengthen and to motivate professionals and also to increase the effectiveness of therapy. In this way, the positive impact, beyond the participants and organizations involved, will influence people in therapy in Greece.
