The project was targeted at 71 students of The Marshal Józef Piłsudski Vocational School Complex no1 in Skierniewice (ZSZ Nr1 im. Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego w Skierniewicach). It involved training periods for 5 groups of students as part of regular training included in the curriculum. Students of the following specializations took part in it. Group1 - Construction (TB) (scheduled 02.03.-13.03.2015 – 10 students); group2 - Environmental Protection/Renewable Energy Devises and Systems (TOŚ)/ (TUiSEO) (16.03 – 27.03.2015 – 10 students); group3 - building and finishing works fitter (MZ) (13.04. – 24.04.2015 – 15 students); group4 - Landscape Architecture (TAK) (01.06. – 12.06.2015 – 18 students); group5 - Construction (TB) (14.09. – 25.09.2015 – 18 students). The first two groups were based in Cottbus, the others in Frankfurt upon Oder. Both centres are the institutional branches of our partner: Berufsförderungswerk e.V. des Bauindustrievertandes Berlin-Brandenburg in Potsdam ( 14482 Potsdam, Karl-Marx-Str.27) (The Vocational Training Promotion Centre of Berlin and Brandenburg Building Industry Union). The aim of the project was the professional development of the participants by gaining necessary on-the-job experience. Group 2 participated in the assembling and disassembling solar panels, went on trips to the biggest solar farm in Brandenburg region in park Lieberose, they carried out leakproof tests of water systems. They also visited the biggest sewage treatment plant in Brandenburg region Lausitzer Wasser in Cottbus. Students from groups 1,3 and 5 prepared foundations for finishing works in various techniques, made templates for window and door openings, painted surfaces using textural and acrylic paints; decorated walls with different types of wallpaper, made mosaic compositions using ceramic pieces, put up tiles. Students from group 4 prepared soil for planting plants used in natural medicine and households, created hedges, perennial plant beds, designed and arranged a garden, constructed stairs, garden walls of granite, garden benches of selected pine timber, pergolas and a small pond. They renovated the area of the park near the centre UAZ , planted garden plants; used specialized mechanical equipment in the process. Another goal of the project was personal development of the beneficiaries, acquiring additional knowledge and skills in the fields of construction, environmental protection, renewable energy sources, landscape architecture. The aim was also to enhance, by acquiring new skills certified by official documents of Certyfikat and Europass Mobility, the chances of getting a job on local job markets as well as to improve students linguistic skills and of course, as a consequence, better external exams results confirming students abilities. It’s worth mentioning that four students having taken part in the training passed the exams in the trades of B.05, B.06, B.07 reaching 70% and 90% ( painting and putting up wallpaper) which is above the national average. The students enriched their knowledge with social and cultural issues, got to know their weak and strong points, and first of all, got good exam results confirming their skills.
