PROJECT
FINISHED
The following application describes our project of students in vocational training of the Berufsbildende Schulen 1 in Aurich, Germany.
20 of our students will have the possibility of completing three weeks of practical training in companies of the English town of Bournemouth.
During their time of practical training they have got the chance of educating themselves in the fields of their own personality, the spoken and written English language, besides getting to know a foreign culture, another way of life and more intercultural aspects.
The participants are students of our special offer of an additional training known as "Kauffrau/Kaufmann für internationale Geschäftstätigkeit" - a course especially concerned with international matters such as international marketing, import and exports of goods and overseas business and foreign operations. All these students are participating in this course during their free time in addition to their daily apprenticeships in regional businesses.
In addition all the participants study English as well as another (second) foreign language, Spanish. At the end of their course they achieve the certificates of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
In order to successfully complete the whole course, all participants have to do a three-week praktical training abroad.
The companies of our region "Ostfriesland" are already involved internationally or are aspiring to do so. This means that the qualifications of out students in international matters are highly welcome. Our students have got good chances on the employment market of this economically rather weak region.
With this project we prepare out students and give them the opportunity of learning how to cope with situations an dhow to get along in a foreign country and in another language. We want them to have courage and to be open for everything new and unknown.
The practical training in Bournemouth will be in the field and functional direction of their respective apprenticeships in Germany. The companies will be chonsen for them according to these needs and to fit their area of operation which are mainly administrative. Students might have their own small projects in the companies, they will take part in client counseling or take care of client or supplyer data.
This way our students have got the opportunity to broaden their minds concerning their personality, but also their language knowledge and most importantly getting along in another unknown company and learning about their way of businesss.
The three weeks of practical training abroad are supported by the home companies, students even get additional free days and financial support.
Our partner, English 2000 - School of English in Bournemouth, will supervise our students, they will organize accomodation in host families, find suitable companies for the practical training and have a language course ready organized.
