PROJECT
FINISHED
Our Project "Internationalization and Linguistic Innovation: Leading to Multilingualism" is based on foreign languages teaching and learning perspective and linguistic communicative competence development and acquisition. Therefore, both goals have become the main aim for a modernized and integrated quality education in a European dimension.
Then, this project has two main objectives: On the one hand, developing and integrating the Multilingualism Plan in our centre and, on the other hand, improving our students expression and communication capability in a foreign language which will lead them to overcome linguistic barriers and increase their future possibilities of professional and personal development into a multilingual and multicultural Europe.
The project will be developed in the Compulsory Secondary Education Centre called "IES Serra d’Irta", located in Alcalá de Xivert village, in the north of Castellón.
It is a project that comprises and has an effect on all members belonging to our educational community: teachers, students, families and local institutions; not only during their development but also in their repercussions when the main aims will be overcome. Related to training courses, six teachers and one member of the High School managing staff will take part. The selection will be done by the school council members and it will also be taken into account the relation of these teachers with the different subjects to improve and their motivation and implication in this project; furthermore, the spreading of the training results will also be an important goal for us.
During the development of this project, different activities related to the implementation of new methodologies and motivating and didactic resources to teach foreign languages will be run; moreover, the application of CLIL methodology in some different areas and our centre participation in European projects through the eTwinning platform and Erasmus + projects will also be developed during the whole project.
These activities will be taken into account from a methodological perspective to promote an active participation of our students in their learning process, increasing their autonomous working and developing their competence in learning to learn.
The project results will be focused on the improvement of the foreign language teaching, the communicative and linguistic competences and the centre educative internationalization.
These three main aims will have a direct impact in our students, who will feel very motivated, implicated and interested in the foreign language learning and they will acquire a much better fluency when they use these languages as a way of expression and communication. Teachers enrolled in these training courses will improve their reliance and confidence to use the foreign language as a teaching language in their classroom, to implement CLIL methodology and to integrate the best practices and successful initiatives. Moreover, attention to diversity and social inclusion will be notably improved.
The results impact will also affect the centre and the different local institutions through the integration and the Multilingualism Plan development and the improvement on the competences related to the management and the internationalization strategies.
As a conclusion, we would like to improve our educational quality, motivate our students and contribute actively to achieve the strategic goals of Europa 2020. We will decrease our abandoned school rate and improve the possibilities of our students to find a job when they finish their schooling; therefore, it will help to decrease the youth unemployment rate.
Definitely, this project will help us to have a more European, dynamic and active citizenship.
