Interkultureller und fachlicher Austausch in den Bereichen Logistik und Tourismus
Start date: Aug 24, 2016, End date: Aug 23, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

By collaborating with the presented European partner institutes and private companies we strive for enabling our students to gain work experience abroad and achieve intercultural competences not only in their professional field, but also in the line of social competence, self competence and personal development. The core aim of this exchange is to offer the chance to experience the diversity of various European cultures at first hand and thereby perceive the advantages and benefits of the European Union in general and a common European labour market in particular. The participants in our project will be apprentices of the dual system in the field of Logistics and Tourism Management. They receive their practical training in private companies, but also attend classes at our school twice a week. Thus they exhibit basic work experiences in their occupational fields. So they witness the European Single Market directly affecting their industries and recognize the importance of individual agency in the international business context. The average age of our students is 20 years. The participants of this project do internships at private companies mostly acquired by our partner schools. As appropriate, the students will also attend classes at the vocational institutes. Before the internship starts, all parties concerned will agree on the intended learning outcome and subsequently sign an agreement. Apprentices of the logistics department will be travelling to Leeuwenborgh (Netherlands). Apprentices who receive their training in the line of Tourism Management get the chance to go to Chamrousse (France) or Frigiliana (Spain). At each work placement the students will be assigned to a highly skilled trainer who will supervise the learning process and also evaluate the learning outcome in collaboration with the student and possibly the teacher at the end of the training period. By carrying out this project we would like to contribute to the idea of a common European labour market on a local and regional level. The immediate addressees of our endeavour are our students and the employers of our apprentices. Nevertheless, a successful implementation of this project could lead to the dissemination of the European idea even on a national level by the multiplier effect.
