INTERJOB4YOUTH- Transference of a Labour Exchange Methodology to icrease the employability and the mobility among youngsters
The recent economic crisis is unprecedented in our generation. The constant progress in economic growth and job creation recorded during the last decade has disappeared in most EU countries. According to Agenda 2020, one of the pillars for the future of the EU is based on the creation of inclusive growth, which is building an economy with a high level of employment that result in economic, social and territorial cohesion. One of the flagship initiatives of the European Commission regarding this issue is called "Youth in motion". This initiative is that by promoting the mobility of students and trainees, and the results reinforce the international attractiveness. Mobility, an underlying principle of the EU, can have a number of potential benefits for the economy, society and the individual citizen. Employment or occupational mobility (i.e. mobility between jobs) and geographical mobility (i.e. between Member states and/or regions) can enhance economic competitiveness; potentially reducing the mismatch in supply and demand for labour across sectors and regions of Europe thus increasing the flexibility and adaptability of the labour market. However, mobility in Europe is quite limited (Eurobarometer, 2006). There are a number of reasons for this, including, lack of relevant skills, language, recognition of qualifications in different member states, access to health care, fragmentation of information and lack of transparency of job opportunities, finding a job for a spouse / partner, and a “weak mobility culture” (Eurobarometer, 2006).
