Intercultural Dialogue through Gender Equality is a youth exchange for young people aged 18-30 years old both for Italy, Romani and Turkey as Program Countries and Tunisia, Egypt and Azerbaijan as Neighbourhood Countries on 22–29 January 2016 in Antalya, Turkey organised by Barrier-free Society and Youth Association.
In spite of progress made at the political level, gender equality issues continues to persist in many parts of the world and violence against women continues to persist in many parts of the world. Sometimes it is also a cliché in some parts of the world. But overall, we still have a long road ahead of us.
Our main aim in the project is to increase intercultural dialogue by using gender issues. We are planning to implement a multilateral youth exchange about gender issues: gender, family, roles in social life etc. We believe the importance of learning from each other rather than learning from books or media. We will use non formal education method in the project. At the end of the youth exchange we hope to promote dialogue among young people and break stereotypes and prejudices around gender among different cultures and religions.
