The Training Course “Intercultural Dialogue for Social Change” will bring together youth workers to address European and global challenges within the context of cultural and religious diversity. Over the course of one week, a group of 36 participants from 8 different countries: Turkey, Poland, Egypt, Ukraine, Greece, Croatia, Spain and Lithuania will meet in Istanbul and participate in workshops and roundtables focused on understanding and fostering intercultural integration, reducing stereotypes, promoting social inclusion and developing professional competences through the use of concrete tools. The main aim is to encourage youth workers to get involved in their societies by making a positive social change and to create a productive intercultural dialogue between people with different nationalities, cultural experiences and particular world views.
The program involves the active participation of youth workers throughout the project development and cooperation of partner organizations. During the training, these young people will have an opportunity to express their opinions, undertake informal study of intriguing subjects and express their opinions in creative ways. After practical workshops they will work in mixed groups, divide tasks and roles, decide the topic and create a final project reflecting on cultural diversity and intercultural integration, with the use of knowledge gained during the training, including strategies of advocacy from local to global stakeholders, social entrepreneurship skills, measuring social impact and spreading the message through social media in creative ways.
The training will enable youth workers to better understanding the above mentioned topics. The project will boost their creativity and improve the practical skills that could later be used in professional life. They will gain communication and entrepreneurial skills, as well as get the opportunity to build a network for pontential projects in the future.
The whole process of learning will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and modified according to the needs and adapted to the profile of participants in order to ensure the best possible results. Participants during the workshops will jointly develop promotional tools disseminating our project locally and internationally.
