The De Prony vocational school located in Asnieres sur Seine counts nearly 500 pupils in different courses and fields such as trade and joinery.Most of the pupils come from disadvantaged social areas.In 2008, the De Prony vocational school opened an European section in Trade and got the Leonardo Certificate in 2012. Last year, the school applied for an Erasmus application form for its project “O€C, On€uroCommence”.This year, the vocational school De Prony wants to go on its European projects and has been a candidate in 2016 to the IT€, InTer€urope, for 24 months.The IT€ project follows several objectives:- Firstly, by giving the possibility to our students to have a work placement abroad, they will develop linguistic and new professional skills.- Then, this kind of project can help our pupils to become good European citizens. - Moreover, it can help the school to reduce absences and drop-outs.- This year, especially, the project will help the De Prony vocational school to develop the joinery department which tends to disappear. The project will begin on June 2016 for a 24 months period.It will include 12 pupils aged from 15 to 17 who come from different social environments.Most of them have never travelled and have a very small knowledge of Europe and its institutions.To manage the project, a team of experienced teachers in several fields will be mobilized.Two teachers will especially be concerned because they will travel with the students during the trip.All along the period, the team will communicate in order to improve and correct the different steps of the project.To reach its goal, the De Prony Vocational school plans to organize several activities such as cultural outings inside the European institutions (Monet House…). Several courses will moreover allow our students to prepare themselves to their future experience abroad (writing documents, covering letters, attending to English lessons in order to discover the culture of the country they will visit, participating to oral sessions to improve their skills…).Events will be prepared inside and outside the school to share the experience and to give to other pupils the motivation to join the program.To make the project a success, the De Prony vocational school works with different partners in France and abroad.Destination Mobilités, our trust partner since 2 years now, helps us to find the companies and the host families for our pupils. Other organisms like the European Ressource Center and the local Authority of Versailles take part to the project. By participating to the Erasmus program, the De Prony School wishes to follow in the way of internationalization and wants to make the European program something positive for the future of the school.
