Integration of special needs children and improvement of ICT technologies usage in 6th Primary School Varaždin
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project addresses integration of children with special needs into the regular learning system, improvement of digital competences among children, and absence of internationalization conditions at 6th Primary School in Varaždin. The school enables integration of 40 children with disabilities into the regular learning system, and provides support in their social integration, which makes the school to deal with one of the greatest challenges in the schooling in general. The school aims to respond with raising digital competences within the target group to present them more accessible digital world of learning, and also to gain know how and additional personal and professional skills that will enable different interventions to produce better learning outcomes and increase integration into the regular activities. The required competence is to be aquired by sending 6 school stuff to mobility job shadowing programme in 3 different schools: ESCOLA EL SITJAR (Spain), Christinelystskolen (Denmark), Savsko naselje primary school (Slovenia). The schools are chosen due to their great results in working with children with special needs in the regular system, their specific learning methods for cerebral palsy, ADHD, and cognitive disabilities. The knowledge and personal/proffesional skills gained by the mobility participants will bring vast contribution towards school's development. It is expected that the new learning experience will improve learning outcomes in key competences at 6th Primary School Varaždin and build foundations for internationalization (this would be the first EU project implemented at the School). In the sense of long term objectives, school expects to raise awareness of lifelong learning and achieve optimal results in EU project development and implementation.
