FINISHED
The project "Integrating our students in Europe” aims to promote the European mobility of Initial Vocational Training students, who will do their practices through work placement (FCT ) in diverse European enterprises . The overall objective is the improvement of skills in the school - work framework, which represents a learning opportunity increasingly present in real life situations. Performing the equivalent form of flexible learning, under the cultural and educational profile, connecting classroom training with practical business experience is highly remarkable. Thus it is intended that we are closer every day to the current labor market. Another purpose of the project is the training of vocational teachers of Las Indias High School. The project participants are willing to improve their learning skills as well as their working skills to satisfy the needs of the labor market, as they have to improve their general educational skills continuously and rapidly in order to teach vocational students the necessary life skill they will need to succeed in the future.
Project participants are 20 young people aged between 17 and 35, two professional families: Personal Image and Textile, Tailoring and Leather, 10 teachers and more teachers from the same training and career counseling families.
They divide students into four groups:
1) 4- Aesthetics and Beauty students will stay in Parnu (Estonia) for four weeks. At Parnu Vocational Training School the students will be trained in workshops and in a business environment. Besides two teachers will spend one week in Estonia
2) 4 Tailoring & Fashion students for a period of eight weeks in Valga ( Estonia). At Valga Vocational Training School students will be trained in workshops and in a business environment. In addition, two teachers will stay for one week.
3) For the second flow we have two host partners. We have contacted directly with two state vocational schools on a preparatory visit. One of the schools teaches hairdressing students and the other beauty students. Both schools are located in the same city, Ljubljana, so we can send 4 beauty students and 4 hairdressers. Also four teachers will go to Ljibljana for a week.
4) Four Hair Salons & Cosmetic participants for a period of 4 weeks in the Guldstadsgymnasiet Skellefteå center in Sweden. Also two teachers for fifteen days.
All training courses are 2000 hours (LOE) that perform the FCT from April to June ( 346 hours ) .
We have found some schools with very similar teaching methods , besides being also public schools. It is not easy to find centers in Europe with similar characteristics to ours. We believe that in these five centers our students can improve their learning, social, thinking and working skills.
Project Objectives:
• Improve the linguistic competence of students.
• Increase professional competence of our students.
• Promote the exchange of professional experiences.
• To promote the mobility of students / as in Europe favoring approchement of cultures.
• Contribute to the subsequent employability.
Canary Island, as a tourist resort many European need to foster the learning of different languages .
The project is really necessary because participants learn to work with professionals from another culture different than theirs within the same professional sector.
One of the main aims for teachers is that they will get acquainted with the improvement of the educational environment and recommendations for implementing innovative methods of training, based on the experience of foreign countries. Group work will help to combine the attitudes and ideas in order to reach a common agreement among themselves, developing tolerance towards different attitudes. Participants in the project will exchange a great variety of experiences with colleagues from abroad, besides improving and consolidating their professional and linguistic skills.
By comparing and exchanging different approaches to methodology and teaching strategies, teachers will increase their skills in programming modern school routes and quality.
Learning abroad will definitely help the teacher staff develop a sense of European citizenship based on understanding, respect for cultural diversity, also for learning foreign languages.
