The projects objective is to create the necessary conditions for local administrations to carry out sustainable energy and environmental policies. This should be done supporting local administrations in energy planning and technical and economic feasibility evaluation so as to implement the programmed interventions and integrated actions in energy management. This approach enables to modernise energy plants and buildings using external funding, therefore overcoming the current project funding difficulties of local administrations due to the contraction of public economic resources. The project also aims at increasing the populations awareness of the opportunities offered both by energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, encouraging the implementation of new projects.
