The Saldus, Mažeikiai and Telsiai districts share many similarities in terms of size and number of inhabitants. However, similarities do not stop just there. They also have a long history of cooperation, much of which has been in the area of cultural. The project has helped to spur new ideas and events, such as a youth dance night festival, the publishing of a joint poetry collection and the organization of exhibitions. Workshops, seminars and new education/training programmes in arts and purchase of new materials/equipment are giving students a chance to enhance their creative skills. The project has helped not only by developing cross-border cooperation but also by creating a marketing plan for those working in the area of culture. It is planned to ensure continued cultural coordination and cooperation among the three project partners, and create a platform for the joint marketing of culture products/events. Achievements: Administrative burden reduction in Lithuania at Šiauliai municipality level - by 39,5% or 2,1 million LTL per year. In addition of that proposals for reduction of administrative burden at the national level are elaborated.Within the Project:• Poets and photographers have had common seminars and field work to create, submit, evaluate and select photos and poems for a joint "Poetry book" and its presentation event. • Teachers and students of arts schools have had common creative workshops and seminars to study each others experience and create works for three mobile exhibitions. • Dance groups and choreography teachers have had creative seminars to prepare a modern dance festival, youth improvisation theatre participants have prepared a programme for two summer camps and a performance.• IT based sound, light and related equipment has been purchased to organize training seminars for the technicians and staff of culture centres about how to apply modern technologies at performances and other culture events.
