Our project started to take shape because some important needs were detected in our school. We have noticed that most teachers are not using the school ICT equipment and also that inside our classrooms the methodology used is not motivating pupils because it does not connect them to the outside world. So we have decided to take action! The criteria taken by our headmaster was that teachers involved in this project of change would already have to be working in classes with ICT technology, the ABALAR project. They would possess a certain level of English ( working in the CLIL project) and with clear social skills. All collaborating in E-twinning projects. Activities have been planned in three stages. - The prep stage is a training course called " EDIXGAL" aiming to learn to work with digital books, and also having a lecturer to support and guide the work. At the same time , teacher are connected to other European colleagues through the e-twinning platform, working together around different activities and sharing materials and task in the "twinspace". -The communication stage will take place at the beginning of the next school year from September on. Its main objective is to inform the rest of teachers about the whole project. We will be using the school web page, the bullentin board and we will hold meeting along the year. - The last stage means to have movilities activities: two job showdowing with two partner school ( Turkey and Greece) and a course: Education and ICT -Where do teachers go? Both seem to be of a great interest to us their goal is to empower teachers and therefore students with digital competences. The main guidelines of our project are : Connecting with the outside world with ICT tools. Active participation and collaboration through on-line platforn, the above mentioned, EDIXGAL and E-twinning. Promoting the use of English as a means of communication and information. Sharing and communicating our knowledge and experience with our colleagues. What are we looking for with our plan commitment? We are aiming to lessen the fear to use ICT, to incorporate the new technologies and tools in our teaching on a daily basis, to motivate our students and also to create a fresh atmosphere in our syllabus.
