FINISHED
The project "Inclusion for a Better Future" is a staff exchange between German organisation IB Brandenburg Nordost and the Palestianian Physiotherapy Association located in Gaza on the topic of inclusion of young people with disabilities in youth work, especially on the verge between school and job. The exchange will take place from 05.-11.10.2015 in Neuenhagen near Berlin, Germany. 10 youth workers and staff working with disabled people from Palestine as well as 10 staff from Germany will take part.
In Palestine, the integration of disabled people is difficult as neither schools nor vocational training centres are prepared to deal with them. Not only is equipment lacking but quite often people lack the knowledge and methods to support the integration of young people with disabilities. Of special interest is the bridge between school and job/vocational training as this is essential for social and economic integration.
The aim is to enable the Palestinian participants to discover how disabilties are handled in Germany, how integration works here. German and Palestianian experts can discuss and exchange views, methods and good practices. That way the staff not only improve theird methods but also their intercultural competences.
The Palestinian participants will act as multiplicators in their organisations when they return home.
