Our project IQ Green aims to improve the quality of education in our various programs. A very important goal is that students from all our programes can be offered t international practice. In our specialschool , personnel will be involved . We plan to send a total of 14 pupils with special needs and 6 accompanying teachers to schools/ colleges within the Mulfor and Flornetnetworks
Furthermore, 120 students who are studying at upper secondary level at Naturbruksgymnasiet in Östergötland will be given the opportunity to practice in a business related to their education. In most cases, it is our partners who arranges internships within their own country and take advantage of the good relationships they already have within their sectors. This will assures the students practiceperiod of high quality with experienced tutors . Those of our project partners being a company or NGO we have been cooperating with for a long time. Their participation in the project is essential and required for certain groups of students in order to reach these studients´ learning goals . From a gender perspective , we intend to encourage boys to apply to project as we see that girls in general are more willing to take the opportunity to practice abroad, and therefore in previous projects have been overrepresented .
Our students are expected to receive a good opportunity to broaden and deepen their knowledge, understanding and experience of how their chosen profession is conducted in other countries. Knowledge and experience of how a workplace operates in other countries, as well as a broader network of contacts , giving our students a better environment for enhanced mobility on the European labour market. We also believe that the opportunity to undertake an internship in another country stimulates our students to study foreign languages and also to train and develop their "proffessional language".
Our teachers receive through exchanges , study visits and job shadowing a better understanding of other countries' educational systems, pedagogy and methodology in VET, interact with the labour market , and assessment of knowledge and skills. We see thus large gains in conducting an international work in our school . In this project, we have applied for funds for 10 teachers. We will continue to develop and operate the international work of the steering committee . The international coordinator has a 50% service to administer and coordinate the work under way with the school director , the two schools' international contacts and chief economist.
A long term goal is a continuous work towards further development , diversifying and assurance of the quality of our international work so we can offer both students and staff a good opportunity to increase knowledge , understanding of cultures and customs of other countries and see new opportunities within the profession. Furthermore, to see the EU as one single labour market with more opportunities through increased mobility between countries.
