The staff of Lycée Jules Verne insists on the needs and the necessity for them to be trained and more precisely trained in Europe. The consultation with the whole staff encouraged a disciplinary and cross-disciplinary work in order to agree on the needs and expectations of such a mobility project.The wish to develop new innovative and collaborative learning in order to motivate students and reinforce the learning possibilities of the school is essential. Besides, this project aims at completing and widening teachers’ personal and professional knowledge.The creation of a European network through those European trainings encourages teachers to share their resources and the creation of relevant European projects in today's global world.This training would also be a way to tackle the geographical isolation of our school, hence our will to get involved in such study visits. Besides, it is part of a global project to widen the learning possibilities for our students and in order to balance the different possibilities offered to them. Humanities and arts must definitely play a bigger role in our school as well as the European section.Teachers teaching different subjects volunteer for the European training plan. The learning and knowledge acquired during their training will be then shared and discussed with the rest of the staff and more widely.The European section of the school insists on the relevance of such a need.Cross-disciplinary work is at the core of our teaching methods through different projects, such as TPE or schools trips to England, Wales, Ireland, Spain, projects with the Shoah Memorial, etc.)The activities chosen by the teachers involved are structured study visit to schools and institutes as well as training seminars, with observing lessons, meeting and interacting with teachers, headteachers, experts and advisors, with group workshops, cultural day visits in order to complete our teaching with authentic experiments and elements, through collaborative learning and network.The aim of this project is a way for teachers to develop and discuss a wide range of issues: historical, cultural, political, economical and social and to open them to the European Union. On the other hand, it is also a way to think about their teaching methods and improve them by making them more diverse and innovative. This project will allow the school to promote a trained, motivated and open-minded staff, which will definitely impact their students’ success.Besides, with a better knowledge of the European Union and its opportunities, this project will enhance students’ European integration, widen their horizons and spark their curiosity.This all could lead to the creation of a possible Key Action 2. The KA1 participation is an efficient way for teachers to get involved in European mobility and training and therefore to develop and enhance their connections and network in order to find new partners for future projects.
