PROJECT
FINISHED
The aim of this project is to promote problem solving, reasoning and representing skills of pupils and to support their learning process in Maths with games and thus, make them enjoy and comprehend Maths easily by developing creative training materials and methods. Also to promote their learning process by performing, practicing, learning through experience and inquiring activities which sweep away their anxiety for Mathematics. As a relentless manner, introducing a problem just as a mathematical issue makes the lessons more boring and complicated for those who don’t like the subject. Some abstract contents of Maths constrain the comprehending of it. Pupils who have fun by participating the learning process will experience the success most probably. Effective learning can be obtained only by the effective participation of the learner. In order to ensure their effective participation, it is prominent to create an interesting and entertaining learning environment. In this project, in order to overcome the fear of Maths, with the notion of Maths can be learned by anyone, it is aimed to prepare and use of the games providing the effective participation of pupils and making them have fun while learning. Also it is aimed to encourage the students to develop their own learning materials as well as make them play games for effective and permanent learning. We intend to store the visual recordings of these materials and practicing activities in ‘sign language’ for the purpose of ensure the hearing-impaired pupils use of them.
At the end of the Project, we intend to publish two books with the names of "Teaching Maths With Games" and "Easy Teaching Materials" which are consisting the whole activities that have been worked during the project. These books and the whole visual recordings of the project are going to be shared in social network sites and project website.
Teaching with games is a kind of technique especially used for the young learners and our target group is the pupils between the ages of 6 and 13.
