Partner project Erasmus+ with title »I feel wood – for good« is based on long-time experience in teaching in education and cooperation among 6 schools. We wish to include as many as possible of our students and our staff (also local community), so they will experience project activities and use the material being developed during project activities. More actively we will involve around 80 students and 40 teachers. Partners in the project »I feel wood – for good« are:

We think often students and teachers are maybe afraid to express themselves and seek for innovative solutions to the problems.With implementation of the project »I feel wood – for good« we wish to rationate this project in all areas of education; integrate creativity into lessons, encourage to give students and teachers open options in expressing their creativity in learning process with the help of teaching and learning with senses; gather their talents, creativity, resources, effort to bring coherence, relevance and connections among different areas to maximum. We believe students must be taught how to gain knowledge and skills with cooperation. Taking part Erasmus+ offers cooperation not just just inside school walls, but cooperation expands internationally: good practice in one school can be shared with other good practices in other schools.
In our project we will aim following objectives:
- cooperative, open and flexible learning - with senses and critical thinking,
- using innovative practices in education by supporting personalised learning approachs,
- using ICT and also virtual mobility,
- validating formal and non-formal education.
Predicted activities:
- Science, technics, modeling: producing wooden bird houses, spoons, cutting board, rattle, ornaments from the roots, making games; calculating different types of wood density, type of tree wood pattern; research asignment; preparing school woods learning trail.
- Arts, photography and music: making wooden instruments and smaller statues; wood in inovative way, contesting, exhibiting products, making photo diary.
- History: making wooden products in everyday life today and in past.
- Cultural heritage: exploring material heritage.
- Mother tongue: exploring wood as motive in national tales and songs, dramatization of a tale, writing new texts, making interviews with experts, exploring wood in phrases, forming journalist texts.
- Foreign and English language: translating of a national tale to English.
- Geography, orientation, sports: forrest school learning trail, sporting in nature, exploring wood as energy source, wooden industry and entrepreneurship.
- ICT: researching online, putting material online, communicating.
- Students at risk , kindergarten: exploring, using didactic methods, games.
The project will join teachers with different nationalities which will enable them to get to know different sistems of teaching languages and exchanging interesting teaching methods. All planned activities will be oriented in building students' confidence and their independence. Project team meetings will be in forms of debates, ICT and innovative practices, workshops and team work. Cooperation will enable teachers to exchange materials and interesting suggestions about formation of organisation of lessons. The project will give students the opportunity to improve their learning strategies about collecting beneficial information.
Results: higher level of ICT competence, self-confidence in communication, higher tolerance and interest in other cultures, EU, higher teaching competence and new, innovative ways, and higher teaching competence, higher opportunities for professional development, incorporation of innovative methods in everyday teaching, higher cooperation in teams.
Impact we expect to achieve on the the participants, participating organisations, target groups and other stakeholders:
- to increase the level of ICT competence,
- to break language barriers and get more self-confidence in communication,
- to encourage positive attitude, tolerance and open-mindness towards European cultures,
- to increase interest in learning new languages and other cultures, citizenship education, EU,
- to increase professional/teaching competence,
- to increase positive values towards European projects, opportunities for professional development,
- to incourage teachers to incorporate project activities in school annual plans and crosscurricural teaching and learning.
Teachers should with additional education, mobility, use of ICT and innovation of new learning tools and materials permanently gain fresh ideas for educational work with students with various needs.
