"Human Rights Theatre" is a 5 days Training on Forum Theatre, hosted by Arttrain for 30 participants from: Belarus, Denmark, Iceland, Republic of Moldova, Sweden, UK and Ukraine. It will take place at Sakskoebing Youth Hostel in Guldborgsund Municipality, DK, from 9-14.9.2013."Human Rights Theatre" will especially train tools from the interactive dramaform Forum Theatre, which is recognised as an excellent tool for working with human rights and democracy, which is very interesting and relevant to the specific partnership.Forum Theatre is a specific body of techniques designed to teach people how to take an active role in their community, both through their local government, and through directly finding solutions to a problem in their particular community, whether it be environmental, social, political or economic. Recognised by the United Nations through UNESCO as an official “tool for social change”, Forum Theatre is an enormously beneficial and useful bank of innovative techniques. It has been used all over the world to influence legislation and encourage the building of more civil societies through the cultivation of an engaged and enlightened citizenry, respectful of human rights and responsibilities."Human Rights Theatre" is a training course for youth-workers, who haven’t been working with Forum Theatre before, and it will include a general introduction to F.T. and related techniques.The purpose of "Human Rights Theatre" is to help the participants to provoke the positive desired changes in the social and political life of their communities and more through artistic methods.
