How to Make the World a Better Place

At a time when some of the major concerns are the sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy habits in young people, it becomes essential to work these issues through non-formal methods. So, came the idea of promoting the youth to engage in sports and a healthier diet through fun activities and using other youth as a means of promotion.
Our participants will be trained through workshops and experience sharing sessions to practice healthy living and are then encouraged to share these new learning with the local community. When this transformation with the young participants of the project process, awareness activities will be held in the main northern beaches of Portugal to practice a healthier life style. These activities were designed taking into account the preferences and interests of the vast majority of young people. We will work even environmental issues by cleaning the beaches and the surrounding woods and construction and distribution of awareness materials as well as issues of social inclusion, by inviting various charities to participate in our activities.
This project has as main objectives:
- To sensitize participants and the community on environmental issues;
- To encourage the participants and the community to practice a healthy life style;
- To sensitize participants and the community for social inclusion.
This project will be held from June 28 to July 5, 2015, in Braga, Portugal and with the participation of 35 young people from seven different countries will be selected participants who have a great taste in music, for sport and for environmental projects and social inclusion and to be responsible citizens who are aware of these issues. Participants must also become more interested in practicing healthy lifestyles (essential to the realization of the activity). Still be young dynamic and above all with social skills so that they can interact with the local community in various activities.
The methodology used in this project will be the non-formal education, by encouraging the adoption of methodologies for active and collaborative teaching and learning, based on participant in its performance and teamwork, promoting participation, we hope to foster the skills necessary to order technique but simultaneously soft skills, as are teamwork, critical thinking, communication skills, leadership, autonomy, empathy, time management, strategic thinking, creativity, etc.
This exchange aims, make the young participants perceive the world in a more positive way. Participants should understand the life of a global manner and that all his actions are reflected in it. Practices of healthy living will be promoted from healthy eating to sports, still undergoing relaxation exercises and mental drilling. All these practices will make the young person more healthy and, above all, more tolerant and sensible.
At the local community level, this project will have a major impact, since we will integrate the local community in all activities during the project. At the end of the project, participants will be able to conduct activities related to music, to sport and protecting the environment in their countries of origin which will bring a strong impact in their local communities. This is a project that can be replicated anywhere in the world.
