SMEs are an important economic factor for the EU. According to the European commission of Interprise and Industry 99% of all European businesses are having 250 or less employees and fall therefore in the category "SME". Therefore it is important to strenghten SMEs in their performance. One way of doing so is by encouraging employees of all age groups in life long learning. This is true for the well-educated as for the low skilled worker and independent of age, sex and working sector. Therefore providing a "working environment which facilitates employees to learn" within the working sector is a topic well discussed on the academical level. But in "real life" SMEs are hardly aware of such a necessity, never to mention the idea, that learning depends on certain prerequisites, and does not happen just by enforcing employees to do so. As a consequence that also means SMEs are not reflecting on questions such as: what makes learning at workplace possible, what will improve and support learning (healthy learning environment), what are´obstructions e.g. stress, time pressure, negative social environment....Based on these facts the project wants to adapt the former project „Health tutor in adult education“, to the needs of SMEs in 6 different countries of Europe. Awareness in SMEs shall be raised and SMEs shall be trained in setting up the prerequisites for the "working environment which facilitates employees to learn". This will be done by adapting the Health tutor material, which focused on setting up a healthy learning environment in Adult Education institutions (course framework, curriculum, health check) to the needs of SMEs. The implementation within SMEs will be accompanied by the bench-effect method, which will further the longtermimplementation within the SMES.In particular the project has the following objectives:- To sensitise SMEs for learning at the workplace in general- To sensitise and train SMEs in setting up prerequisites for learning at the workplace- To establish the prerequisites and to find ways for sustainable learning environment in their workplaceAs a side effect:To improve the general health of employees in SMEs andTo ensure the competitiveness of the SMEs.
