Our school hosts students of which 30% come from financially disadvantaged families. The Leonardo and Erasmus programmes have supported the students for more than 10 years as they stimulate their curiosity and their willingness to expand their international horizons with regards to the intercultural aspects as well as their professional education. This year, 21 students from 2 different HND vocational training courses, some of them studying International Trade and Business and some others doing administrative courses to be Personal Assistants, have had the opportunity to benefit from internships in 5 different countries, the majority of them being placed in Great Britain. These internships have enabled them to carry out assignments in 2 different areas: international trade and the administrative sector, each of them in a different cultural environment. The benefits they get from this experience exceed our students’ expectations as they can discover the values of different cultures, improve their language skills, be more self-confident, adapt more easily and these internships prove that it is possible for them to integrate a professional environment in a foreign country.
