In the context of internationalization and to establish a strategy of internationalization at our university, by participating in the Erasmus+ program takes place an exchange of experiences beneficial to all categories of beneficiaries of Erasmus grants (students, academic staff and administrative staff), and the mobility beneficiaries return to our university with a significantly higher opening to international cooperation. In the same time our university wants a compatibility of the study programs in Europe.
As stated in TUIASI Strategic Plan and in the Internationalization Strategy: internationalization of courses, information exchange, promoting university image to enhance international cooperation and mobilities which will enable TUIASI to organize international events; it will also enable its students and staff to attend similar international events.
The main objectives of "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi are: in increasing the number of mobilities to all sections - students, academic staff and administrative staff, encouraging students to undertake periods of Erasmus+ placement stages, familiarity with another system of higher education in the European Union, acquiring new knowledge and practices from all four sections (SMS, SMP, STA, STT) and acquiring new language skills .
In the academic year 2015/2016, within our university the numbers of mobilities incresed significantly in all categories, especially at the SMP category where the number of mobilities almost doubled as follows:
- SMS: 54 students;
- SMP: 111 students;
- STA: 131 academic staff;
- STT: 8 non-academic staff.
Regarding the student's mobilities from all the 11 faculties within our university students performed study and traineeship stages at the universities/ firms in EU (Architecture, Automatic Control and Computer Science, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection, Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Building Services, Machine Manufacturing and Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering, Textiles, Leather and Industrial Management, Hydrotechnical Engineering, Geodesy and Environmental Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering).
