For National Defence University (NDU) the participation in the project "Learning mobility in the sector of Higher Education" No. 2014-1-PL01-KA103-000051 contributed to meeting the major challenges facing Europe in the field of education and training as well as actively promoting the growth of the employability of young people. Supporting the attractiveness of the teaching process while participating in the Erasmus+, the NDU has limited among young people early studies process leaving by offering a well-functioning system of international education that provides graduates to acquire additional skills required in today's labor market. The NDU promoting efficient use of human capital promotes formal and informal learning accessible in national and foreign universities.
Erasmus+ project providing funds for students, teaching staff, and administration staff mobility developed at the NDU and organizational units have achieved the ability to provide programs for foreign students. Erasmus+ has strengthened the NDU position not only in Europe, but even on the global education market. It is recognizable, popular and valued for its contribution to the process of internationalization of the university. A dynamic implementation of the mobility promoted the NDU at the level of a leader not only among European military academies, but also among European civilian universities.
Using its educational and teaching potential the NDU is constantly expanding its subjects taught in English. Classes with foreign students conducted in English has become popular within the framework offering more than 50 items grouped in 9 modules: Strategy and Security, International Security Law And Cultural Competence, Contemporary International Order, Security Studies, International Security, Information Security, Logistics, Organization Management and Aviation Management.
Students, teaching and administration Staff mobility has become one of the featuring characters of Erasmus+ at the NDU. In 2014 the NDU achieved its activity that largely exceeded planned targets in qualitative and quantitative values. In the category of mobility abroad 86 students realized their studies/practices programs in different international instituties and 79 staff realized their teaching/workshop programs. The increase in travel is the result of intensive dissemination activities.
This means that the acquisition of international experience at the NDU has become not only a standard but also fashionable. The search for reliable partners respective in qualitative and established co-operation resulted in the signing of over 60 bilateral agreements with foreign universities, which have an Erasmus University Charter. The established quality of partner institutions, where study courses are consistent with the ones conducted by the NDU has allowed the implementation of the aforementioned mobility. Scholarships are granted to any representative of the NDU interested in traveling, no matter which level and form of studies and held degrees and academic title. Students from poorer families were encouraged and supported by the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development (PO WER).
A good practice for promoting studies within Erasmus+ program are the internal regulations at the NDU that permit and encourage the recognition of the achievements/results abroad fully. Since the very beginning of its participation to the Erasmus Programme the NDU fully recognizes studying abroad for the comparable period of study (including exams) based on the original system of the Agreement on Recognition of Credits, which were the equivalent of the Learning Agreement Erasmus+. Not only transparent procedures for the recognition of achievements are appreciated by students but also a high level of service offered by the Office of the Erasmus+ because the uniqueness of cooperation between the command, departments, coordinators and administrative staff, that 100% of beneficiaries awarded top marks satisfaction.
Ensuring full expressiveness of operations the NDU runs a website www.erasmus.aon.edu.pl that provides a full information about the program Erasmus +. Since the academic year 2014/2015 the NDU uses a fully independent electronic application supporting the office Erasmus+ “Mobility Online”.
The NDU conducts an active and diverse cooperation with other universities and educational institutions in Poland and Europe. The measure of this cooperation is also a broad support for uniform universities in Poland. The most important dissemination activities has created a consortium of the Uniform Universities “KONSMUND” consisting of the National Defense University, the Military Technical Academy, Naval Academy, Academy of Military Land Forces, the Police Academy and Central School Firefighting Services. The partnership with the coordinators of the Consortium has oriented the NDU AON to explore and develop the potential of universities in Erasmus+.
