Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Oct 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our main goal was to know as much as possible about Reggio Emilia educational programs for children, about it´s philosophy, organization, and so on. The italian organization Reggio Children gave us the great opportunity to it. During the five days I spent in Reggio, , I knew it´s community, it´s people and Council, etc. It is important to know about all that in order to realize the close relationship between schools and community. The very firs day, we paid a fairly kindly guided visit to the town. We were guided by teachers and students of the local University. We could realize how participative and culturally concerned the local community is, with families and society taking actively part in the project. The Council itself and the whole community are the main supporters in every sense, perfectly aware of the impact a high standards education has on every one of them. The community participates by electing representatives or approving any investment, and also takes part in many activities. Our timetable was from 9.30 to19.00 and was mainly dedicated to two different kinds of activities. On one hand, a group of teachers, pedagogues and ateliers, presented us some different projects on research, investigation and innovation. Through them, we knew about their philosophy and pedagogy. On the other hand, we paid visit to different schools and exhibitions which helped us to have a more practical approach. We could openly share with teachers and pupils, having first hand information about achievements and difficulties. We also knew about their peculiar architecture (plenty of light and space for interaction), their project based learning methods, flexible groups, co-evaluation, everyday life, convivence, etc. To conclude this project, the participant teacher gave some speeches for both Vocational Education students and teachers, and for High School teachers too.
