Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014,
End date: Sep 30, 2015
PROJECT
FINISHED
This Project was implemented by the University of the Aegean (G ATHINE 41) with a grant from the National Agency Erasmus+, and a duration period of sixteen months.
Implementation time: 01-06-2014 to 30-09-2015.
This project targets at the realization of the planned mobilities with a grant, at the academic recognition of the mobility periods, student and staff exchanges, encouragement of the student and staff mobility, the continuous information about the Erasmus+ program, the enhancement of the mobilities and the Institution?s international profile by establishing new partnerships or strengthening the existing ones. The University of the Aegean was initially subsidized to the amount of 214.994,77 ? in order to implement a total of 87 mobilities (30 students for studies, 43 students for traineeships and 14 staff members for teaching). The University of the Aegean received an additional grant of 18.750,00? for implementing 8 more student mobilities for traineeships and 3 more staff mobilities for teaching. The total estimated outgoing mobility numbers -after additional funds- reached 98. Drawing on the review of our Mobility Plan, it finally appears that the University of the Aegean covered the above mobilities by implementing and granting a total of 106 mobilities (24 for studies, 63 for traineeships, 15 for teaching and 4 for training). Three of the students who moved to study abroad belonged to vulnerable social groups and received an additional grant of 100? per month. For the implementation of this project, cooperation and interaction with HEIs from Programme Countries have been required. All parties benefited in a direct and indirect way. The transfer of scientific knowledge, the share of expertise, the experience and intercultural interactions favor individuals and the directly involved organizations and communities in a broader local, regional, European and international level. The people involved in this project were able to strengthen their skills at the personal, professional or academic level and received recognition for their learning mobility period. Stakeholders were able to enrich cooperation experiences, to reinforce their learning mobilities within the Erasmus+ programme, to create strong conditions for further cooperation in the future, both at the European and international level, and generally to strengthen their international profile. The University of the Aegean, through the realization of this project, created promotional material for the Programme itself.
