Higher education student and staff mobility project

As part of the Erasmus Programme Higher Education action 1 „Mobility” realized in 2014-2015 at Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow the following goals were achieved: 1. Students mobilities (SMS) in order to study in the countries of the programme were completed; 2. Students/Graduates mobilities (SMP) in order to receive training in the countries of the programme were completed; 3. The mobilities of Academic Teachers (STA) in order to conduct lectures in the countries of the programme were completed; 4. The mobilities of Academic Staff (STT) in the order to receive training were completed. Within Erasmus + programme and according to the financial agreement number 2014-1- PL01-KA103-000290 the University completed 68 mobilities. Four additional mobilities of students going to training (SMP) were completed in it. In total UPJPII granted 72 scholarships to go abroad within Erasmus+ 2014-2015. The scholarships within the programme were received by: 1. 16 students going to study in the following countries: Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, Spain, Germany, Lithuania, France and Belgium. 2. 32 students going in order to receive training in the following countries: Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and Belgium. 3.13 Academic teachers in order to lecture in the following countries: Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Italy. 4.11 Administrative Staff going in order to receive training in the following countries: Spain, Austria and Cyprus. At this time UPJPII received 24 people for exchange that is: 13 students from different foreign universities and academic teachers to lecture from such universities as: Catholic University in Ruzomberok, Vilnius University, University of Presov and 3 workers participated in training within Erasmus+ programme. In the academic year 2014/2015 UPJPII signed the institutional agreements with 60 foreign universities such as: Yildrim Beyazit University, Turkey (only Academic Teachers), University of Pisa, Italy, Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, Germany, Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, Spain, Universität Würzburg, Germany, University of Tilburg, Holland, University of Tübingen Eberhard Karls, Germany, University of Ljubljana, Slovakia, Institut Catholique de Toulouse, France, University of Lusofona, Portugal, Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples, Italy. Additionally the University cooperated with the students and academic teachers within Erasmus+ programme through collaboration with Institutional Partners and contact via social media, to realize the project in the following years. The university also collaborated with foreign institutions where the students completed their educational pathways. However the action taken by the university within Erasmus+ programme brought new international contacts, contributed to the level of language, cultural and professional competencies of fellows of Erasmus+ programme, influenced and contributed to the development of the university international strategy. The University benefited from the participation in the Erasmus+ programme in the following way: 1. The increase of international mobility for UPJPII students. 2. Starting the international collaboration, also as part of the mobility programme with partner countries. 3. Improving students’ languages skills. 4. Making it possible to develop interpersonal skills i.e. soft competencies. 5. Increasing the mobility of the academic teachers, improving their qualifications abroad. 6. Networking with European universities and starting partnerships in order to conduct scientific collaboration. 7. Experience in the development of modern methods in didactic work. 8. Receiving the students and academic teachers from abroad who will contribute to the University through sharing their methods and cultural variety. 9. Facilitation of the management of the University thanks to trainings for administrative staff in foreign institutions. 10. Promoting the international stage and European Union among academics at UPJPII. 11. Implementing the most interesting administrative procedures learnt abroad at UPJPII. Within Erasmus+ Programme the University achieved the following results: 1. 72 mobilities successfully completed within Erasmus+ Programme in 2014-2015. 2. Gaining experience in the development of modern methods in didactic and administrative work. 3. Receiving the incomings students and academic teachers from abroad who contributed to development of the University. 4. Managing the University thanks to trainings for administrative staff in foreign institutions. 5. Increased demand for a bigger offer of language courses for incoming foreign students within Erasmus+ programme at UPJPII.
