In order to succeed to the Assistant Manager Higher Diploma (BTS), the students have to do an international workplacement in an export department in a French company or in a company located in a foreign country. Teachers always motivate their students to take this internship. By going abroad, they get to complete two objectives: improve their language skills and get the professionnal work experience required. Mobility is an obstacle to our establishment (located in rural areas), the students can not easily acces transportation and organisations which could inform them about journeys abroad are too far away. Therefore, we have founded an international office that helps the youngsters approaching, informing them on existing arrangments and introducing them to international projects through conferences, meetings between youth people from different countries. Five people achieved to realize their desire to go abroad for the 2014-2020 contract. They have worked in different structures: a combinaison of heritage preservation, a tourist organisation and a large commercial entreprise. They were entrusted in various implementations. For exemple, reception procedure, updating basic data base, updating website, elaborating press files release, organizing conferences and visits. In addition to language improvement, our youngsters are more open-minded and they improved new skills - autonomy, curiosity - and new values as tolerance. As soon as they come back to France, their only wish is to go abroad again. They share their experiences with other students and encourage them to go abroad as well. The placement abroad is an asset to our students’ curriculum and it increases their chances to secure in a job.
