PROJECT
FINISHED
Technical College in Bjelovar was awarded the Erasmus+ Charter in 2014, so this was the first project of this type that the institution had managed. The main objectives of this project were related to setting up the administrative framework and the network of partner institutions for the purpose of allowing for international cooperation in the areas of student and staff exchange.
The project included a total of eight (8) mobility participants. Four students and four staff members participated in the four anticipated mobility types. Student mobility was equally distributed among students of the two study programs that are currently offered at the Technical College in Bjelovar, i.e. two Mechatronics and two Nursing students participated in this project. Two students participated in student mobility for traineeships in the Republic of Austria, and two students participated in student mobility for studies in the Czech Republic. Regarding staff mobility, three Nursing teachers participated in staff mobility for teaching at partner institutions in Estonia, Belgium and the Netherlands and one Mechatronics teacher participated in staff mobility for training in Germany.
As this was the first Erasmus+ project implemented at the Technical College in Bjelovar, in the first year of the project the undertaken activities were mainly oriented toward building up the network of partner institutions, including both higher education institutions offering study programs compatible or similar to the ones offered at the Technical College in Bjelovar and companies willing to cooperate in the area of student mobility for traineeships. Furthermore, the institution set up the International Office and the International Cooperation Committee that are in charge of issues related to the promotion and implementation of international cooperation. During the 2014 project, the International Office organized info days for students and staff members, assisted students and staff members in mobility organization, passed institutional and internal regulations and set up the administrative framework for efficient operation of activities related to mobility and international cooperation. In the second year of the project, the focus was placed on dissemination activities.
The impact attained by the project may be seen in the rising interest among students for taking part in mobility programs, mainly due to dissemination activities and positive results of student mobility. The results are extremely positive, as the two students who participated in student mobility for traineeship were offered a workplace by the companies at which they did their Erasmus+ traineeship. Staff mobility was also very fruitful, because it led to strengthening the partnership with the institutions in question, which is to be visible in the forthcoming period.
