Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Harstad University College (UiT The Arctic University of Norway since 1 January 2016) has during the project period been allocated both SMP, STA and STT. Regarding the SMPs, we have during the last years collaborated with European partners within the field of practice placements. Our bachelor students in Social Education and Child Welfare have had the possibility to undertake their placements periods at different partners in Europe. The collaboration is fruitful and something which we strive to continue and further develop in the future. While on placement, our students receive adapted guidance through on-site-mentors several hours per week, based on our guidelines for practical training. The learning outcomes are good and our students are giving positive feedbacks after returning home. The academic collaboration with the partners is essential for suceeding and is fundamental in the agreements with the partners. In the projectperiod 12 out of 14 granted SMPs were allocated. Our objective is to encourage more students to go abroad to undertake practical training. The Erasmus+ grants are essential for the students in the recruitment process. In the project period two teachers have used teacher mobility grants, both participating with guest lectures at International Staff Weeks, whereas 9 administrative staff have participated in a 1-week English course at Eastbourne School of English (organized by NTNU/Trondheim).
