Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest (MOME) has joined to the European Union’s Erasmus programme in 1998/99.
Our primary objective is the development of the quality of training, learning and research in the area of creative activity. Our university strives to implement the mixed model of internalization involving as many academic staff and industrial professionals as possible. The model not only encourages the mobility of its own faculty and student but it seeks international cooperation for the joint realization of academic, research and creative art related activities. These activities pursued abroad provide opportunity for such individual advancement and the acquisition of experience that is sure to result in great professional gain for all students and staff of our institution. We strongly believe our incoming student can benefit our mixed model. Every year a great percentage of students could study abroad and in the meantime we can welcome approximately the same amount of foreign students (8-12% of our student in the whole university have the change to benefit this program which is really unique.)
Ever since the number of our mobilities increased and continuously fulfils the programme’s main target: to provide opportunities for students and staff of our institution to gain multicultural experience in another EU member state’s partner institute. A multicultural experience like this can only assert the untidiness of Europe and benefits for all participants.
Having also involved into the recent Erasmus+ programme,- our objectives here at MOME are mainly the same, to ensure educational, language and cultural experience in another programme-country’s higher education institution and to develop the participant’s skills.
In this session – MOME originally applied for
• Student mobility (SMS) as 57 person and 9438 days,
• Student mobility (SMP) 13 person and 2679 days
• Academic studies (STA) 7 person 46 days
• and Staff trainings (STT) 9 person 50 days
of which we accomplished as many as in the report.
Our SMS and SMP students have spent their Erasmus months in partner universities and in European enterprises.
Our STA and STT mobilites targeted the development of co-operation among us and our Partner Institutes. The personal experience during these visits help us supervising and re-newing our current inter-institutional agreements.
