For many years now, Université Paris Diderot has pledged to support all of its many international initiatives in the fields of both training and research. Based on the improved visibility of its international initiatives, the university has identified and established priority partnerships, targeting medium-term prospects (2014-2018), defined according to the following principles: listing "partners" with which Paris Diderot has already established multiple cooperation projects in all fields (education/research, Medicine/Sciences/Humanities); structuring and amplifying these projects, aiming to launch innovative initiatives: international laboratories, joint training programs, co-supervising of theses, joint responses to calls for proposals, etc.; advertising of dedicated funding with specific calls for proposals (for missions, invitations, seminars, etc.) ensuring full-scale mobility for faculty, students and even administrative staff on occasion. International mobility is encouraged for all members of faculty (2,000 professors – researchers) and students (28,000 students in 2015). To begin with, for undergraduate students, a special effort is made by implementing a mobility preparation plan spread over three years: Licence 1: define a mobility project, identify a partner university, selection / Licence 2: prepare for mobility, with targeted language support and administrative and logistical preparation for mobility / Licence 3: travel, financial support from the university (travel grant + maintenance grant). In the same way, study and internship mobility programs are organized for DUT students (Licence 2 course) and Master’s students, who are encouraged and promoted as they are more systematically integrated in the curriculum, particularly for professional courses. Partnership agreements dedicated to laboratory training are being gradually implemented in all applied science fields. The same applies to medical studies, where mobility programs can be recognized in a simplified manner thanks to the structure of external internship mobility programs. Université Paris Diderot currently runs 25 diplomas with an international curriculum (Double Degrees). Creating an international track in each university field is a priority, for both double degrees (e.g..: Master in Comparative History and Civilizations with Germany and Italy; Master in Genetics with multiple Italian universities; Master in Physics with Italy), and multiple degrees (European consortium in History and English & American studies). In terms of results, academic mobility in Europe remains quite intensive. In 2014-2015, 216 students benefited from an Erasmus+ mobility program at Licence and Master levels: 80 students for an internship, 136 for study (including 36 as part of an international curriculum); 24 –faculty members benefited from a teaching mobility program as part of a national university curriculum or a double-degree program and 1 IR Office staff benefited from a foreign language training mobility program. The university intends to continue developing mobility at all study levels, reinforcing the integration of a period of study and internship abroad in training programs, and promoting the internationalization of university degrees by hosting foreign students.
