Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

In recent years, our school has bet on participation in educational programs at a European level, this gives place to an internalization process of our Centre where new needs has been created for different educational stages. The obtaining of both the Erasmus Charter (2010) and its renewal (2014) meant a qualitative and quantitative boost for our VET students and it also implied an added value that we may offer to young people. Our Salesian School is located in the popular district of Delicias. Having these grants is very important because enables the integration of our students in work placements in European companies. These practices increase their levels of employability, improving their language skills and incrementing their degree of maturity, personal autonomy and interpersonal abilities. At the beginning we collaborated with Totnes European School of England researching companie s for our students. After a first assessed meeting we decided to start working with them. Thus, new contacts have been opening gradually in Germany with the Warendof Institute of Vocational Training and different Salesian vocational training centers in Italy, Poland and Hungary. In addition, we have managed to engage students of all professional specialities of our centre: • Automotive • Electrical and automated systems, • Telecommunications and information technology • Automation and industrial robotics • Programming production in mechanical manufacturing • Development of cross-platform applications • Informatics Informatics is always the most demanded professional family among our students. Our goal is keep on growing with our European project, improving what we started and reaching the desired results: to establish solid contracts with our partners and companies where our students have been doing internships; motivate more staff and students to be part of the program; make families, educational equipment and the whole educational community in general aware of the importance of practical work in Europe. We should be conscious of the relevance of such projects. This support translates into newer opportunities to work in Europe. In 2014 we obtained four scholarships for trainees and two grants for staff. We received fourteen applications for student scholarships and none for staff. Given the circumstances, the European programs team decided to reassign the two grants for staff to two new trainees. Applications are assessed giving score to:•language skills •academic record •attitude •personal maturity The result was six higher degree students: • 4 Computer Science •1 Mechanized • 1 Automotive (Participants in Computer science include a woman. All of them were born between 1990 and 1994.) Activities performed: School year before mobility: 1. In June, before the start of school year 2014-2015 we gather the students who are finishing 1st year of Higher Degree to attend a talk explaining all features, benefits and information about Erasmus + project. The mobility coordinator runs this talk for all students who just returned from their mobility as well as these students talk about their educational experience. Mobility school year: 2. families of Higher Degree students ere informed of the Erasmus+ program at the beginning talk. 3.A specific chat is given to interested students. 4.Nomination and selection process of students with language test and personal interview. 5. Publication of provisional and final lists of candidates. 6.After the selection: talk with the families of chosen candidates. 7.Personal interviews: students decide the destination and we verify the personal situation of each participant. 8.Search company: activity plan to develop. 9.Information on the grant agreement, work placement and signature of both documents. As a result, we have confirmed an increased interest in participating in the various European programs by the rest of the students. We notice a considerable improvement in communication skills in foreign languages on the way back Our goal in the future is that more of 50% of students were able to get job in Europe, increasing our network of contacts with companies and improving procedures so that at least 50% of staff may perform mobility.
