The IRTS of Franche-Comte, institute of higher education for training and education in helping professions, offers the opportunity to its students to do an internship aboard as part of their training, preferably in European countries. This is the reason why our school has requested a subvention for a 2-year project (from June 1st 2014 to June 1st 2016) within the category “mobility of students’ internship”. Over this period, three students volunteered to do an internship in Europe (Sweden, Romania and Spain). For personal reasons, two students have to cancel their project. Only one student has been able to make her project come true. She’s a student in childcare (“educateur de jeunes enfants”) and she did a 2-month internship in a trilingual kindergarten in Stockholm (Sweden). While the quantitave target has not been reached, the impact within our school has been significant. In fact, the positive experience of this student has enabled other students to consider the option of doing an internship abroad.
