In 2014-2015, the Haute École Léonard de Vinci had a population of 8435 students, representing 68 different nationalities. This multicultural background makes us naturally prone to internationalization and to openness to the world. The Erasmus+ mobility project developed over the years has had a strong and positive impact on our institution. It has contributed to improving people’s both learning skills and interpersonal skills.
The Haute École Léonard de Vinci is holder of the Erasmus Charter 2014-2020. Every year, it takes part in the Erasmus+ programme, mainly through the programme’s Key Action 1, Learning Mobility for Individuals. The Haute Ecole’s international policy is structured around three priority axes : increase the number of student mobilities, increase the institution’s attractiveness and improve internationalization at home.
In total, 234 mobility activities were organized in the academic year 2014-2015, among which 41 SMP, 129 SMS, 20 STA and 44 STT. Although the majority of our training programmes are of the first cycle, our target groups include students from both the first and second cycles.
One of the main characteristics of our education is the importance given to practical training, mainly by encouraging our students to develop their professional experience during work placements on the field. We have recently reached our ambition to increase the offers of work placements abroad by sending four times more students in SMP mobilities. By ensuring our students a close connection with the professional world, we also guarantee them highly qualified job opportunities upon graduation. We have also increased the number of staff mobilities, for both our teaching staff and administrative staff.
95 % of the people who have taken part in either an IN or OUT mobility organised by the Haute Ecole have expressed high general satisfaction concerning their experience. These results encourage both our teaching staffs and coordinators to pursue their efforts towards internationalization.
