Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

AMEU ECM entered into its 3rd year of Erasmus exchange. Exchanges were again focused on expanding the international network, which shows in a great number of staff training exchanges, also including participation at international staff weeks and staff training courses. Objectives were met, as we intended to add another 10 universities to our network. Some of the exchanges already went both ways. Profile of participans: mostly junior staff in international office and administrative divisions. Out of the 11 performed staff mobilities, 7 were used for staff training and 3 for teaching. 3 out of 7 included intensive language courses for young academics. Two were international staff weeks from which another 30+ contacts resulted that we will build into international cooperation in the years to come. Results and impacts: in 2014, the first exchange went to Finland. from this initial contact at Turku university, 3 more exchanges followed, all from Turku to Slovenia. we are now working on submission of 2 joined projects and two more visits are planned for the year 2015/2016. impact will be long-lasting, as the projects are intended to run for at least 3 years, if approved. A more detailed cooperation was established with a FH from Austria - two exchanges in the last year. With them, we are working on redesigning curricula for a post-graduate study programme - again long-term benefits. As to student exchange: we used all study mobilities for Internships of young graduates. The reason was that until 2014, AMEU ECM only had a general Erasmus charter that did not allow exchange for the purpose of training/internship. This year, this possibility was given for the first time. The decision of the Erasmus committee was thus to award all available mobility options to student training and split it among three largest study groups. additional mobility was transferred from staff to SMP due to large interest and left funds/mobilities with staff. One of the SMPs had a "force majeure" situation as the internship was in Turkey, close to the Syrian border. We had to terminate this mobility, bring the student back and then found him a new location. Therefore the number of student mobilities resulted to 5 (or actually 4 people, only that one had two of them due to Force Majeure).
