The "L. Refice" Conservatory of Music is the most important organization in South Lazio for music training at all stages. It counts 120 teachers, programmes covering all music professions, 1200 students - out of whom 700 enrolled in Bachelor and Master degree programmes. Since 2005, the Conservatory has joined Erasmus mobility projects, widening its perspective and gaining visibility and prestige. To us, Erasmus is also an inspiring valuable source of experience: teaching mobilities mean sharing different methodologies and repertoires; masterclasses held by professionals from enterprises connect the job market with the institution; staff training mobilities bring along professional enrichment; study mobilities bear a broadening of knowledge and abilities, including language skills; traineeship mobilities are an opportunity to test oneself, to develop self-awareness, to increase one's curiosity and openness. The Erasmus experience strongly affects everyone, especially our students: a lot of them decide to continue their studies or undertake their professional careers abroad. The success of the project is based on the following key features: - quality of organization and of content; - dissemination of information, wide publicity of calls for participation and selection of candidates according to fair criteria; - monitoring and evaluation of activities; dis- mination of results. Each project stage is carried out with great attention, while the aim of the overall experience is not only the personal and professional growth of participants, but also the improvement of our institution, in a stimulating interchange. As to the mobility of students, preparation work is vital for the success of the project; in particular Learning Agreements are drafted in such a way as to ease the recognition of credits acquired abroad and consequently the planning of long-term studies. Student participation is encouraged through the allocation of additional funds from the Conservatory. Furthermore, the entire National Co-financing is reserved to students, both to increase their grants and to support "zero-grant" mobilities. Along with outbound mobilities there are inbound mobilities. Teachers invited to give masterclasses come from European partner institutions and companies. Erasmus students join our foreign students, who mostly come from Asia, and cooperate in creating an international environment. We strongly believe in Erasmus, the highlight of our activities.
