Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The University of Rome “Tor Vergata” strives to present itself as a point of reference for the evolution of the European and extra-European intercultural process of integration, through meeting and exchanging knowledge between different cultures. To support the process of internationalization of the university, the latter takes advantage of the Erasmus + resources, stipulating and managing didactic and scientific cooperative programs and agreements at a multilateral and bilateral level between the University, Companies, Corporations and Institutions of Higher European and Extra-European Education. The goal is to implement teaching activities by organizing the exchange of students, professors, interns and staff members. For this reason, it focuses on offering high-quality teaching and professional training, through appealing systems for students/professors/interns/staff, characterized by a three-level based architecture (Bachelor, Master and Doctorate). This has led to a transparent and user-friendly system across countries through the use of credits/ECTS which has facilitated the recognition of the delivery of Diploma Supplement, Europass and the acceptance of joint or “dual” degree titles. The creation of a close collaboration between University, Companies, Corporations and Institutions of Higher Education at a national and international level has become, in such a context, the main objective of the University for the upcoming years. The triangle of knowledge, i.e. the link between higher education, research and companies that nurture excellence and development, is the fundamental indicator of quality that will be appropriately monitored through internal and external assessments. We choose our partners based on quality checks by the staff who assesses the different institutions according to their notoriety, structure, research, internationalization etc. The students are selected through competition on the basis of merit and their linguistic knowledge. This insures important results and makes a strong impact in terms of quality of the mobility, the acquired credits and the international reputation. The most important long-term benefits, already observable with the acquired experience after a long period of Erasmus activity, are still the ones the university focused on since the very beginning of its adventure: building leaders of tomorrow by spreading a new “European culture” or sort of an “ErasmusNESS” in which to identify oneself and participate to.
