Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche (ISIA) di Roma is one of the most ancient and well prepared Academic Institution in Design field in Italy. It concerns training and education of students in Industrial Design, Multimedia Design and Systems Design. ISIA is a small institution, it offers 3 bachelor level courses in Industrial Design (3 year courses) and 2 Master Level courses (2 year courses) in Systems Design and Multimedia Design, and they consist of 30 students per class providing an high study profile where students are followed closely behind. The Erasmus + Project for the 2014/2015 academic year was aimed to promote international student mobility with partner universities within European countries. Exchange program for students allows to improve the knowledge package offer giving the chance to get in touch with International Design Scenaries. This provides the chance to increase the quality of the academic education offer. 9 students of the third year in Bachelor Level participated to the student mobility program. Most of them spent one semester abroad gaining a relevant number of ECTS with good marks well recognized by our institution. 3 of them decided to prolong their mobility period for the whole academic year. They gave us good feedbacks about their increased team working skills, communication skills, language knowledge. Essentially these are our targets in promoting student mobility. Getting in touch with different cultures and different design approach allows to be a better innovative and well prepared Designer, improving student’s awareness of what is going on over national boundaries. That is an essential feature to lead to innovation.
