Participation in international programmes is an integrate part of the College's strategy. Erasmus+ programmes provides outstanding opportunity for teaching staff, administrative staff and students to gain international experiences and use their enhanced skills at the home institution or in the labour market. The main objective of the project was to broaden the active partnership network of the College to achieve a higher level in internationalization and improve the teaching performance. As College of Szolnok provides BA courses taught entirely in English, one of the project aims was also to identify good practices and know-how at partner institutions and to implement into the organization and the curricula.
In the 2014/15 academic year ten members of the teaching staff and two members of administrative staff participated in staff mobility. two students spent two semesters abroad, one student spent one semester at a partner institution and nine students participated in work placement. Not just the outgoing activity but the receiving incoming students and staff were in focus: seven students and seven staff mobility was undertaken at our institution in the report period.
The teaching staff by completing the teaching hours specified in individual teaching programme gained an international and multicultural experience, improved their English and German language skills, received a basis for benchmark to their professional knowledge and teaching skills and maintained and developed the partnership with the foreign institutions.
Students gained international experiences and insight into living abroad as well as they could improve their foreign language skills and other personal skills like problem solving, flexibility, adaptability or working alone and in teams.
By the completion of 2014/15 academic year Erasmus+ project, College of Szolnok managed to broaden the network of partner institutions, maintain the attractiveness of the programme among staff members and students, maintain and improve the high standards of teaching in English by using best practices and improving language skills, develop the student services at the institution for foreign students to implement good ideas from partner institution's operation. The College maintained the membership in BUSINET network to easily find partners implementing new projects and launching common course units or teaching programmes.
To express our instittuion's commitment in internationalization, a new English-taught Ba programme was launched in Commerce and Marketing what is available from 2016/17 academic year.
