Heart, Keep Beating
Start date: Feb 1, 2009,

The "Heart, Keep Beating" project was a transnational youth initiative with the objective of telling and informing about a piece of contemporary European history. The story of how Romania in the 1980s became the European country with most HIV-infected children (a total of nearly 10.000 infected children). These children are now young adults struggling with the realities of independent life, facing discrimination and difficulties when looking for jobs and homes. The ”Heart, Keep Beating" project created a documentary film following 2 of the young HIV infected Romanians, giving voice to a group of youth at-risk by letting them tell their stories and their hopes and dreams for the future. The activities of the project took place in Romania, where the documentary was filmed. The rest of the project (editing and dissemination of material) was made in Demark and Portugal. A part of the dissemination also took place in Romania, carried out by the Romanian group of the project. The total duration of the project was 12 months, including shooting of the film, editing and dissemination. The project had 15 participants (4 in Denmark, 4 in Portugal and 7 in Romania).
