Start date: Mar 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Goals: raise awareness towards social co-operatives. Providing practical and theoretical knowledge in connection with founding and operating social co-operatives; Preparing youngsters to transmit knowledge towards their own communities; Improving self-knowledge, self-confidence, communication and skills or competencies used for self-fulfilment; participants should be active in founding or promoting social co-operatives; By using the mutual language, English, we will achieve better communication, we will improve foreign language competencies and we will be able to build up the cooperation with partners. We involve organizations from 3 countries (15 disadvantaged participants, who are either Roma or disadvantaged people, and we involve youngsters who want to help these people) to the exchange program. Our partners have vast amount of knowledge in implementing similar exchange programs. Important steps: 1. Preparation: continuous communication with the partner organizations, making all the important details on the youth exchange clear and explicit. /accommodation, participants, volunteers and people in charge of implementation/ We work out the system for the implementation, the evaluation of the project and the applied methods. We work out a unified system of viewpoints, based on which we choose the participants and make the relevant measures of precaution. We assess the participants’ linguistic competencies and if needed, we organize English courses to make them better prepared. The youngsters get information packages from their organizations about the working social co-operatives that are in their own countries. They will be prepared on the topics and the national evenings too. The presence of media is very important even in the preparatory phase, so we publish leaflets about the project and its launch. We will be continuously publishing and uploading our goals and messages on the website. We will have open communication between the partners and participants during every activity. 2. Implementation: The exchange is realized in Kecskemét, Hungary, where there is a well-equipped youth camp. The reason why we chose Kecskemét is that it is near Budapest and there is a possibility for the groups to get to know the two co-operatives’ activities, called “With Communal Social Co-operatives” and the “National Association of Social Co-operatives”. In the project work, we put stress on formal and non-formal pedagogical methods based on the skill level of our target group. /art therapy, small group sessions, debates and role/situational games/. We follow the principles of “learning by games” and the “Compass”, for the sake of our target group’s development. The youngsters will put a journal together during the exchange that will contain all the information about their work. The journal will be published and disseminated on community websites and through various organizations. 9 young individual will present from the 3 organizations on the exchange, and 1 group leader from each group. Our volunteers will be in the implementation phase, altogether 7 people: 1 facilitator, 1 group leader, 2 assistants, 1-1 person who are in charge of works in conciliation and logistics, and 1 project manager.Topics: Summarizing knowledge of Erasmus+ and Youth exchanges in frame of interactive group work, presenting the youngsters’ own countries, short presentations about social co-operatives held by youngsters; Human rights, EU- and citizenship rights and duties; social participation, activity and volunteering; the situation of disadvantaged social layers in views of employment; community building and development, enforcing and representing interests; possibilities of social co-operatives and their legal background; knowledge on their foundation, parliamentary meeting game; democratic way of thinking, democracy, the role of equality in social co-operatives; 1 presentation in addition and visiting two organizations.3. In the end of the project, the partner organizations close the program by individual and group evaluation. Description of expected results: Based on the youngsters’ opinion, we disseminate a leaflet about the activities done during the exchange and about the possibilities of Social Co-operatives especially for the disadvantaged and Roma youngsters.
